WELCOME TO OUR EQUESTRIAN CENTRE

Horses have been an important part of the Portuguese culture for many years, and the native Lusitano is world renowned as the ultimate bull-fighting horse, and with the natural physical ability for working equitation and high school dressage. More importantly to us it is an extremely rideable horse for all abilities, suitable for competitive and pleasure riding. We have set up a small equestrian centre here in central Portugal, where we have a selection of pure bred Lusitano horses, that are available for you to ride during your holiday here. We welcome people who want to ride on a regular basis either to hack out or for tuition, and we run tailor made holidays for riders who want ride these wonderful Lusitanos while also having a chance to explore this beautiful historic region of Central Portugal.

On our 3 hectare farm, 'Quinta do Cavalinho', we have a yard of 9 stables with excellent facilities for keeping and training horses, including a full sized 20 x 60 arena and extensive turnout paddocks.

We are able to offer the following:

  1. Exclusive pay as you go riding holidays for one or two riders only, giving individual attention either for lessons or hacking. Children also welcome.
  2. Self catering cottage available on site, or B&B accommodation in a nearby Quinta farmhouse, with the option of full or part board.
  3. Tuition for children and novice riders upwards, either as a one off, on a regular basis, or during your holiday.
  4. Hacks for up to 2 hours in the surrounding lanes and beautiful forests.
  5. Long reining lessons and a rides out with our pony and trap.
  6. Training and development of horses kept here on a livery basis.
